How does the SureSlim Eating Program work?

SureSlim is a scientifically formulated health, wellness and weight loss program, based on correct nutrition, metabolic processes and hormone regulation. The SureSlim Eating Program is scientifically formulated to balance the hormones that control body weight such as Insulin, Human Growth Hormone and Serotonin. This Eating Plan corrects and speeds up your metabolism and creates an environment in your body for it to function at an optimum level.

You will need to make an appointment for a complimentary health & wellness assessment with one of our wellness coaches at a SureSlim Wellness Centre that is nearest to you where you work or live.

Once your assessment has been done, your wellness coach will advise you on which blood tests you need to have done at a pathology laboratory. These test results are then sent directly to our medical doctor who is also a qualified nutritionist. A scientifically formulated Eating Plan is worked out for you according to your blood test results, your medical information as well as any food dislikes. Your blood test results will also alert us if you have any pre- existing medical conditions such as diabetes or high cholesterol.

Why do I need a blood test?

The reasons why you are required to undergo a blood test prior to embarking on the SureSlim Eating Plan are simple.

  • To identify any pre-existing medical condition that may be affected by food e.g. diabetes, high cholesterol, liver functions, thyroid, and gout to mention a few.
  • To ensure that there is no pre-existing medical condition that may affect your weight loss or may be contributing to the problem. E.g. thyroid.
  • To ensure that you do not have a potentially serious condition that may be worsened by particular foods.

Approximately 49% of clients blood test results show that they suffer from more than two abnormalities in their blood.

Our medical team will formulate a personalised Eating Plan for you, based on your blood test results, medical history, medication, food preferences and weight loss goals. The SureSlim Eating Plan developed for you is specific to your body’s nutritional requirements.

Do I have to attend weekly coaching sessions?

Your Eating Plan is only one component of the wellness and weight loss program. SureSlim also provides weekly, private, one-on-one consultations. Your wellness coach acts as your personal weight loss and wellness coach providing encouragement and advice whilst monitoring your progress until you have achieved your goal weight. You will also be introduced to the Lifestyle or Maintenance program to help you to keep the weight off that you have lost once you get close to your goal weight.

Do I have to buy expensive pre-packed food?

No. The meal planning is based on fresh, nutritious foods which are available at your local grocery store.

I think that I may have Metabolic Syndrome? Can SureSlim help?

Being overweight has traditionally been blamed on eating too much food, eating the wrong kinds of food and not exercising enough. Medical professionals are now learning that many people may not be to blame for being overweight. In fact, no matter how hard some people try, they will not be able to lose weight.

These people may have what is known as Metabolic Syndrome. Although Metabolic Syndrome which is also known as Syndrome X or Metabolic Syndrome can lead to diabetes, heart attacks, strokes and high blood pressure, it is possible to treat the condition by losing weight safely and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

People who develop Metabolic Syndrome have difficulty maintaining normal blood sugar levels and they have high levels of insulin in their blood. When insulin in your blood loses its ability to tell blood cells to absorb glucose from the bloodstream, glucose levels remain high after eating. This means that your pancreas has to work harder and harder to produce insulin. This can eventually lead to diabetes and the possible need for insulin injections to control your blood sugar levels.

Losing 5% - 10% of your body weight can considerably reduce the risk of Metabolic Syndrome. The SureSlim eating program can help you to lose your weight with a personalised weight loss eating plan that is scientifically formulated for you and specific for your needs. Once you have lost your weight you will learn how to maintain your weight loss on SureSlim’s unique Lifestyle program. Regular moderate exercise is also very important as it helps to maintain healthy blood lipid and glucose levels.

I have Gallstones. Can I go on the SureSlim Eating Program?

Yes, most certainly. Some people who have eaten a Western Diet for most of their lives could have gall stones by the age of 40. The dangers of obesity far outweigh the possibility of developing gallstones whilst losing weight.

I have an ulcer, suffer from hypoglycemia, had a gastric bypass and I need to eat more frequently. Does this mean that I will not lose weight with SureSlim?

Our doctor will adjust your Eating Plan to accommodate your frequent meals and you will still lose weight albeit at a slower rate.

I tend to feel lightheaded between meals but feel better when I eat something. What do I do if I feel this way?

This normally only happens on the third or fourth day after you start on your Eating Plan and it is only temporary. Your body is busy adjusting to your new way of eating to help it to lose weight. You will feel better when your blood sugar levels start to stabilise.

Are there any side effects when you are on the SureSlim Eating Plan?

Your body will go through a detoxification process on the Eating Plan so you might experience head aches and fatigue during the first few days on the program.

I exercise regularly. How will this affect my Eating Program?

If you are exercising for more than 45 minutes per day, you should be following the Sportspersons program. Your wellness coach will explain to you how to adjust your Eating Plan according to your exercise regime.
